Your viewpoint and the essay's purpose should be clearly established and sustained. The essay should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.) and not exceed 500 words per essay.

Essay 1: When asked how he made it through WWII as a paratrooper, Mr. Jackson always responds, "With sheer determination." Describe a situation in your life where your determination played a pivotal role in overcoming a significant challenge or adversity. Discuss the steps you took to stay focused and motivated, the mindset you developed during the process, and how your determination helped you achieve success. Reflect on the lessons you learned from this experience and how you plan to apply your newfound determination to your future academic and personal pursuits. *
