Lisa Parker teaches Business Mathematics at SDI. She has been an online educator for over thirteen years and has over ten years experience in the accounting industry. In her most recent position, she held an accounting management role with a Tier 1 & 2 automotive supplier at their corporate headquarters in her home state of Michigan, where she handled all day-to-day accounting activities and sales/financial reporting for both the firm’s U.S. and Mexico operations. She earned honors and distinctions during both of her masters programs: first with her MBA, where she was nominated for the Cleary University MBA Leadership Award, and again later with her MS in finance, where she graduated with distinction and was inducted into the University’s Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Honor Society for AACSB accredited institutions.

When asked why she chose to work with SDI, Lisa cited a supportive management team and work environment. “I was eager to be part of their unique program so I could help students become successful in the firearms technology industry,” she says. When asked what she likes most about teaching, Lisa shared, “I enjoy supporting my students and motivating them to reach their educational and career goals.”

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys reading, fitness, crafts, Bible study, Internet surfing, and watching TV. She also enjoys learning, and if given the time would like to learn a new language like Spanish. Her idea of a perfect day would be spent lounging at home with her husband and their Bengal cat while working on crafts, listening to 80’s music, sipping iced tea, and snacking on chocolate.
