SDI helps military students succeed

Resources for You

We hold our nation's service men and women in highest regard. The freedom we have to educate our students comes from your sacrifice and dedication. And we do not take that for granted.

We strive to provide the best possible service to our current and former service members as they pursue their educational goals.

SDI makes it a priority to promote lifelong learning and professional development for veterans, active-duty military, and their families by offering:

  • Active duty tuition rate of $250 per semester credit hour
  • Educational Resource Fee waiver* for active duty students
  • Scholarships for active duty and veteran students
  • Support and assistance in navigating U.S. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance (TA) benefits and Veteran Affairs benefits funding
  • Student advocacy from SDI Military & Veteran Services staff at every level, from the admissions process through graduation
  • SALUTE National Honor Society for eligible student veterans
*Active Duty Waiver

In recognition of active duty military service, SDI will waive a portion of the Educational Resource Fee (ERF) for any student who can provide evidence of current, active military duty during the period of enrollment, regardless of how they fund their education at SDI. Effective with new enrollments on February 8, 2022, the ERF for active duty students will be $295 per semester, after the $300 benefit is applied. Additionally, SDI will honor the $250 rate for active duty students, regardless of the tuition rate in effect at the time of enrollment.

Learn About Our Services

It’s something that I definitely am glad I was able to experience. They’re gonna get you ready for things that you wouldn’t think that you would even want to take on or aspects of the industry that you normally wouldn’t even have thought of doing. It’s a good experience. And if you want to be a gunsmith and it’s a field that you want to get into, it’s an invaluable tool that I don’t even think you should cut out.
