A Patriot Day Remembrance

  • Dave Propri

It’s been two years since this podcast first aired, yet it remains as poignant today as ever.

On September 11, 2001, our nation was rocked by multiple blows thrown by a terrorist organization that wanted nothing more than to harm thousands of Americans and frighten millions more.

In a way, they succeeded – thousands died from the horrific attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash of one plane hijacked and then brought down by the passengers of United Flight 93, some of the bravest humans ever to walk this earth. The economic impact was enormous, and all across the country, for a time, planes simply stopped flying.

But really, they failed.

They wanted us to regret our support of Israel, our action in the Persian Gulf War, and our military presence in the Middle East. Instead, we became enraged.

The podcast episode above is intended as a tribute to those who weathered the storm of 9/11.

As you know, the past several weeks have been ones of chaos for the country of Afghanistan, and its impact has been felt by so many who have served in our country’s military.

SDI’s president, Traci Lee, released a statement for those affected by these events. You can find that statement here. Remember: if you are troubled by these events, you are most certainly not alone.
